Abandoned Devices

Last updated 2026-08

This page explains what happens to a device that is repaired but cannot be returned to its owner.

What counts as abandoned

A device may be considered abandoned if a repair is complete (or was declined) but the customer does not arrange for the device to be collected or returned within a reasonable period after we contact them. We will always reach out to you before we treat a device as abandoned.

What we'll do before disposal

We will attempt to contact you using the phone number and email you provided to arrange return of your device. Your device is stored securely while we are holding it.

What happens to abandoned devices

If we are unable to reach you and the device remains uncollected, we may dispose of, recycle, or reuse parts from the device. Before any of this happens, we take reasonable steps to protect your data. Queen City Cell does not perform data recovery, but we take care to handle your device responsibly.

Storage fees

Any charges for storing a device after it has been repaired and we have contacted the customer to arrange return will be discussed with you directly. We will not surprise you with storage fees.
